Memory Upgrades and Errors

If your computer is experiencing memory errors, you will need to replace the RAM. RAM stands for Random Access Memory and aids your processor in multitasking. Your RAM stores data from different programs and waits to be accessed by your processor. Replacing RAM in you desktop computer will require the use of a screw driver.

• Turn off your computer and remove the power cable.

• Remove the side of your computer by removing the two screws that secure it.

• Press down on the tabs at the end of your RAM sticks. The tabs will release the locking mechanism that holds your old RAM in place.

• Remove your old RAM from your computer.
• Insert your new Ram into the RAM slots.

• Pull the levers back into their original position to secure your RAM to your motherboard.
